Crossing the finish line

I would like to welcome fellow author Sofia Grey as she talks about Crossing the finish line!

Crossing the finish line

It’s strange. When you spend weeks and months working intensely on a book, racing towards a deadline, you think that the day it goes live will signal crossing the finish line and you can relax. It doesn’t quite work like that, in fact it’s more like coming round the bend and realising you have another lap or three to go…

Today sees the publication of my latest novel, Obsession, the first in the Talisman series.
Obsession is a dark contemp romance with a thread of paranormal woven through it, and as you might guess from the title, it explores some dark personality traits.

In this excerpt, Gabe Bridgewater is obsessed with finishing his Formula 1 racing career on a high.

I smiled when Elaine, one of the people Gabe had invited, told me how much she admired our devotion to each other. How affectionate we were—what a lovely husband I had.
In front of everyone, Gabe was adorable. Especially in front of Jon Craigowan and his wife, Anita. I never could decide if I should feel shocked at Gabe’s blatant two-facedness, or admiring of his political guile.
Jon Craigowan was the hot new face of Formula 1 racing. He’d only joined the team a year ago, but he had a string of wins to his name already and had been tipped as a future championship winner. This was Gabe’s fifth season. He had yet to clinch the title and every time Jon finished ahead of him, he seemed to get a little harder, colder and more remote.

It’s a double celebration today for me, as it’s also my birthday J
Tell me about your strangest birthday present and I’ll give each person who comments a copy of my short erotic ghost story, Come To Me. You’ll also go into a draw to win a copy of Obsession.

Obsession is available 12 June 2013, from Time & Tide Publishing.

Josh Delaney is the ideal honey trap.
His charm and model good looks would be enough for most women, but coupled with his psychic ability to read their thoughts, he’s impossible to resist. Suspicious husbands employ him to test their wives, to see if they can be tempted to stray.

High profile couple Suki and Gabe Bridgewater have the perfect marriage, or at least, that’s the image they portray to the world. Behind closed doors, Gabe’s dominance in the marriage is unravelling and he decides to test Suki, using Josh as bait.

For Josh it should be just another easy job, but two things go horribly wrong.

One, Josh falls in love with Suki.

And two, Gabe refuses to let her go.

About Author

Romance author Sofia Grey spends her days managing projects in the corporate world and her nights hanging out with wolf shifters and alpha males. She devours pretty much anything in the fiction line, but she prefers her romances to be hot, and her heroes to have hidden depths.
